Create your own colonial Herb Garden complete with brick walk, parsley border and a knot garden. Based on designs of old herb gardens, you will plant your beds of colorful herbs with a variety of interesting stitches using DMC six strand cotton, Danish flower thread, Marlitt and pen-wiped Medici. Blossoms, stems and roots are set off by a dark ground. Information on each herb is given and an extensive bibliography is included. Herb Garden is shown in Thomasina Beck's book, The Embroiderer's Garden and was written up in Needle Arts Magazine.
Ground: Zweigart white mono canvas #18. Design size 10-3/4” square on 13-1/2” square canvas.
Technique: Canvas/needlepoint.
