Cajun Quilt DetailsBack to Gallery
Cajun Quilt appeared on the cover of Needle Pointers magazine back in September 1995. The piece grew from an invitation to teach at the ANG National Seminar in New Orleans that year. While researching the Cajun culture, Genny came across a photograph of a Cajun woman working on a quilt. This piece replicates the fabrics and colors Genny found to be representation of the “Cajun look”. The focal point of the piece is a diamond set in striped patterns and framed by layers of increasingly larger rectangles. Stitches include Brick, Rice, Mosaic, Scotch, Herringbone and Bargello.
